[SMM Daily Review of Nickel Sulphate] June 27: Nickel salt prices remain stable

On June 27, the SMM battery-grade nickel sulphate index price stood at 27,194 yuan/mt, with a quotation range of 27,200-27,600 yuan/mt for battery-grade nickel sulphate. The average price remained stable compared to the previous day.

On the cost side, LME nickel prices rebounded due to broad-based non-ferrous metal price gains and oversold recovery. Overall, immediate production costs for nickel salts increased. From the supply perspective, some nickel salt smelters halted operations for maintenance due to losses, while others maintained stable quotations. On the demand side, precursor plants reduced inquiry activity amid weak demand. Market transaction and inquiry activity remained subdued this week.

Looking ahead, it is expected that sentiment will drive nickel sulphate prices upward, though the magnitude of gains remains constrained by sluggish downstream demand.
